Questionnaire on Tree Species for Urban Street Alignments in Milan

Invitation to Contribute to the MST Questionnaire Dataset

Invitation to to take part in a questionnaire dedicated to assessing the adaptability of tree species and cultivars to the urban climate of Milan and their suitability for use in street tree alignments.

The aim is to collect direct, practice‑based insights from agronomists, foresters, and green‑space professionals—both from the public and private sectors—in order to contribute to a shared dataset that can support urban green‑infrastructure planning.

You are welcome to contribute by adding your observations and evaluations to the MST questionnaire dataset in Google Drive.
Please add one row with your name for each species/cultivar or street line you wish to add or to evaluate.

Operational Guidelines for Contributors

What is requested

For each species included in the attached list, respondents are asked—only when direct experience is available—to assign:

a score from 0 to 5 for adaptability to the urban climate of Milan (0 = not suitable, 5 = highly suitable)
a score from 0 to 5 for suitability for forming street tree alignments (0 = not suitable, 5 = highly suitable)

It is not necessary to complete all fields or evaluate all species: even a single, specific contribution is valuable.

A Notes field is also available for any observations, clarifications, or particular cases.

The structure of the questionnaire is based on a selection of species derived from work developed by GALK – German Association for Landscape Architecture, adapted for evaluation within the Milanese context.
