Adaptability of tree species and cultivars to the urban climate of the Metropolitan City of Milan and their suitability for planting in rows along roadsides. Preparation of questionnaire-style data sheets with the aim of gathering direct, practical, experience-based information from agronomists, foresters and green space professionals, in order to contribute to the creation of a shared dataset that can support the planning of urban green infrastructure.

MILAN STREET TREES (MST) is a research project on the role and ecosystem value of Milan’s tree-lined avenues, integrating taxonomic identity, spatial distribution and ecological performance within the city’s urban fabric. The research was conducted as part of a curricular placement involving 13 international students enrolled on the Master’s programme in Landscape Architecture and Heritage at the Politecnico di Milano.
