An insightful session on the transformative role of tree-lined streets in shaping greener, healthier cities.

This event marks the final presentation of the Milan Street Trees Internship, part of the Landscape Architecture – Land Landscape Heritage Master’s program at Politecnico di Milano, supervised by Prof. Nicola Noè and Prof. Alberta Cazzani.

PRESENTATION DETAILS
This presentation will reflect on the ecological, spatial, and symbolic value of tree lines within Milan’s urban fabric. It brings together the results of detailed fieldwork, GIS mapping, and ecosystem service analysis conducted across thirteen areas of the city by ten international interns. Together, these findings offer a grounded vision for reimagining Milan’s streets through green infrastructure and climate adaptation.
The session will also introduce design strategies to address fragmented corridors, propose new planting approaches, and reflect on urban heat mitigation, biodiversity enhancement, and equity in green space access.
